The Tip Top Restaurant.

Sunday morning I spent my time at Moonlight Beach taking in some excellent volleyball. Earlier, I had enjoyed a breakfast steak and eggs breakfast at the Tip Top restaurant. The owner, Big John kills the beef in the back and feeds his patrons in the front.  His meat is better and fresher than even the In-and-Out Burger down the street. And it was just by chance that I found this deli over four years ago.
The first time I relocated to the San Diego area from Henderson City, Nevada, I looked for a motel in San Diego. That was over four years ago in August. A tall yellow round sign off the 5 Freeway publicized the Motel Six off of the 5 freeway. After two right turns off of Palomar Road I found it. I slept around the clock and in the morning my stomach would not me to sleep any longer. My first morning in San Diego County, I asked the Motel Six clerk for a good restaurant.
"Why just across the street. It is the finest in town." and she was correct. The next four years found me stacking up on prime meat at the Tip Top restaurant and enjoying Bavarian hospitality.  I even had the fortune to meet Big John. He spoke about how he bought the property and his origins from Germany.
Big John told me that his family goes back generations as the finest butchers in Lepsig. Also befor the war, his Dad fed Jews who came to the back for food. The Jews were forbidden to shop in markets.
This morning was just like the others except the Tip Top had a sign in front of the register. I had noticed that many had reloaded up on bacon. So much so that bacon seconds now were forbidden.
But the Big John breakfast still offered as much ham, sausages or other types of meat for his special breakfast: Eggs, hash and seconds and thirds, and more until closing. Of course little old ladies filled their large black bags with bacon and made bacon sandwiches for the week. The servers were given a few cents to shuttle the bacon to their guests. Yet with all-you-can-eat ham also, nobody leaves Tip Top without a bulging stomach.

Last night, Moonlight Beach beckoned. I needed a pick-me-up after too many hours of computer work. I drove down the the boulevard to parking lot hill. It overlooks that grandest view in all of Encinitas.
One bench has a chap feeding the pigeons and seagulls. They took turns bartering for the bread chips and bird seed he provided. After I finished two cutie tangerines, I removed my beach chair and took up a spot down below. The sun had begun to go down and the fly fisherman no longer be seen as the rays blocked my view.  A young wedding couple slid down the embankment along with two camera men. The sweethearts hugged, kissed and he even picked her up. What a gal event in front of me.
At about six thirty, it cooled off and I decided to get another lift, this one at the Tip Top Restaurant i Carlsbad. Two hours of salty air gave me such an appetite that I remembered when I brought my true love here over four years ago and shared a liver dinner.
This time the eight and change dinner offered lots of fresh liver with onions, broccoli, and a baked potato. Of course a roll and a pickle slice came with the meal. Never have I tasted such generous portions of succulent liver. It was so tender that I didn't even need my teeth. (Not Finished)
